Promotional items can bring much needed awareness and attention to your business, which will in turn be beneficial to its success. By offering promotional products, you will give your customers a constant reminder of who and what your business is.
These products should not just be for your customers. Supplying your employees with, for example, embroidered shirts (or totes, hats, pens, pencils, etc.) you are helping advertise your company as well as creating a professional appearance. This also does not have to be expensive. If you are on a tight budget, something as simple as a t-shirt with your company logo will do the trick.
Promotional products should not be top quality merchandise, such as computers or a 52” TV. Keep them simple and inexpensive. Remember, you are not Santa Claus so you don’t have to give away a lot of money with your promotions. Something as simple as note pads or mouse pads with your logo on them would suffice. If your customers are mainly offices, a favourite has always been coffee mugs. This will ensure that your logo is on everyone’s desk.
Promotional items do not necessarily need to constantly remind your customers of what your business is, although this form of advertising is indeed helpful. Sometimes simply offering your customers something like free dinners or tickets to a show will help create return business and loyalty. If you are on a budget, try to avoid five-star restaurants.
Clothing is always the most cost effective form of promotional items. You may want to consider avoiding the standard clothing, such as hats or shirts. A good option is to go with promotional jackets with your company logo embroidered on the back. This doesn’t have to be expensive either; a simple training jacket would bring your message forward. Try to be creative.
With promotional items it is not only the person who receives it that may be thinking of your company but also persons who are close by and have seen your promotional pen with the logo and contact information. This expands your reach when using this kind of promotion.
Just a bit of news before I go, my slightly quirky boss is on this new craze about a day of team building london. It appears that in a couple of weeks time I will be growing lasting work based partnerships with all of the people that I go to the office with. Wish me luck everyone (at least I get a free trip)!
